Hues of Pink

Wednesday, May 28, 2014

The warmer weather has definitely brought a different side of me out. I have always been someone to stay clear of bright color as I think I look like a teeny-bopper. However, lately I have found myself reaching for my pink shades rather than my typical neutrals and pastels.

The shade that started the fascination is Essie E-nuf is E-nuf. This shade is not necessarily a pink but rather a coral shade with red-pink undertones. If you're looking for a bright color with sophistication give this shade a go. A polish that is just a step up from e-nuf is e-nuf is from Jordana Hawaiian Flower, this shade is a bright pink with a more red undertone, however this one doesn't have the orange hue that you see in e-nuf is e-nuf. Now if you're looking for a shade with a bit less red and little more pink look no further than Essie Watermelon. This shade is the perfect balance between red and pink. The Essie website calls this a juicy red, however this is definitely a pink!

Now on to the more true pink shades. Essie Secret Story [shade on my nails] is a sheer fuchsia shade that definitely takes at least three coats. Now if you love this color but want something a bit more opaque I would suggest AVON Strawberry, this is not a dupe for secret story but it is a similar shade and the formula is quick drying and long lasting! If a hot pink is what you'e looking for give Essie Pansy a go! This a you're classic tropical hot pink. If you are going on holiday to a tropical place let me suggest this shade as it would look stunning with a glowy tan. This is definitely the more festive of the bunch.

What pinks have you all been loving? I would love to try out some new ones!!

Have a great day!
