Review: L'Oreal True Match Lumi

Tuesday, December 17, 2013

Hey there everyone!

Today I wanted to share my thoughts on the L'Oreal True Match Lumi foundation. I have been using this foundation on and off for about two months now. I picked this up because I have see Shannon Harris from YouTube had used it heaps of times and she seems to have enjoyed it, and well I'm a complete Shannon groupie lol, so I gave it a go.

Here are the claims from the L'Oreal website "True Match™ Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup combines 3 powerful ingredients that work to improve your complexion the more you wear them. 40% pure water for all-day hydration. Antioxidants and Vitamins C and E for improved clarity and skin tone. And Liquid Light Technology for an instant, luminous glow". It also claims that in one month skin is clearer, healthier, and luminous. The claims of this foundation seem very similar to their BB cream claims. As I have said in I'm pretty sure all my reviews I have very dry skin so love a luminous look. This foundation is perfect for me, especially now that we are getting into the colder months and my skin needs the extra hydration. The coverage of this foundation is light to medium. I love the finish of this look, it gives a gorgeous glow to my skin and doesn't accentuate my pore. It's a perfect match and I really love the packaging. Now if only L'Oreal can repackage their original True Match. When I picked this up in store I was intrigued by their claim to improve your skin. I don't think this foundation has helped my skin drastically, but I will say it hasn't broken me out which is a plus.

All in all I think this is definitely a foundation to consider if you are in the market for a glowy finish. I wouldn't 100% recommend this to oily skin girls just because its so luminous I think you would have to blot constantly. However, if you use a mattifying primer and powder, I don't see why this couldn't work. For those who have tried it, what are your thoughts?

Have a great day!
xoxo Franchesca

  1. Haha, I absolutely love Shannon Harris as well, and have been considering buying this foundation, but haven't gotten around to it yet. My skin tends to get pretty dry in the winter, and I've heard so many things about it being super hydrating, so I might just pick one up while doing some last-minute Christmas shopping.

Speaking of Christmas, I've tagged you in my Christmas Cracker Tag (since I absolutely love your blog, and all) if you feel like giving it a go :)

  4. I just bought the regular True Match as a lot of Youtubers keep saying it's the best drugstore foundation. I haven't tried it yet but I've very high hopes! I have very oily skin so the Lumi version would not suit me at all.

    1. I haven't tried the regular true match because I hate the packaging in the states, but I'e heard amazing things of it as well. Would love to know your thoughts!

    2. It is sold with a pump like here in Europe but I had trouble finding it as it is called different in Spain. They gave it the French name: Le Teint Accord Parfait. Strangely enough I was at a French Airport last month and they sold it with the English name, weird... I'll let you know as soon as I start using it. Have a nice weekend!
