Review: Covergirl 3 in 1 Foundation

So about two weeks ago I was on the hunt for a full coverage foundation as I have been dealing with a lot of hyper-pigmentation from a recent break-out. I have heard great things about the coverage of Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 foundation, however I will admit I was a bit scared to pick this up as I have extremely dry skin and most full coverage foundations tend to be matte. However I gave it a go and I absolutely love it!

My recommendation for anyone with dry skin is to moisturize like crazy! My skin is so dry that I use coconut oil both day and night.  However when I do use this foundation I layer coconut oil, my cetaphil moisturizer and another layer of coconut oil just where I feel extremely dry (normally my nose and around my mouth). As this is a matte finish this probably will not be my dead of winter foundation but at the moment as my hyper-pigmentation heals it works like a dream. 

This foundation is extremely long wearing looks flawless all day. I find that throughout the day it begins to look more skin like, it turns more into a satin finish which I am surprised how much I actually enjoy the finish. My favorite part of this foundation is that it eliminates the need for face concealer, I still use concealer under my eyes, but it is perfect for those days were I want a flawless face and need to be out the door right away.  The only downfalls for this foundation are that I do find that it oxidizes a bit, however I got a shade a bit to light so I find that the oxidation makes it match my skin spot on! Also if one does not exfoliate and moisturize properly it will cling to dry patches and look cakey. 

For those who have tried out this foundation what are your thoughts? And if anyone knows of the best way to apply this PLEASE let me know, I am still experimenting with different applications. 

*Side Note: I think its really cleaver of Covergirl to put the expiration date on the packaging!
