The Nude For All Seasons

Monday, January 12, 2015

With every season comes new colors, new shades. In the spring/summer you get pastels and neons, during autumn/winter you get the deep burgundies and cool toned grey, and with every season you see get you neutrals.

Now there are a number of shades that can be worn throughout every season, or you could not care and wear whatever color you want, whenever you want. However, Essie's Sand Tropez has passed the test of the seasons. This shade was part of their Spring 2011 collection, and is described as a sandy beige which it definitely is. This shade is incredibly versatile and can look different in different lighting. At times this shade gives off a taupe hue which I believe is the number one factor that has allowed this shade to work in any season.

Tickle My France-y

Monday, September 15, 2014

Tickle My France-y was part of O.P.I's 2008 France collection. It is a dusty mauve shade that gives off a nude tone in some lightings, which you can see in both pictures. I picked this up a couple weeks ago and have taken it off to just re-apply it. That's how you know its good. O.P.I is a brand I never paid much attention to. Up until may be April I only had one shade from them and ever since I have expanded my collection. It wasn't until I got a shade put on at the salon that I really started to pay attention to the brand, but slowly but surely the brand has become a favorite of mine. Like all the O.P.I shades I have tired, Tickle My France-y glides on smoothly and evenly and with two coats you get full opaqueness. The durability of O.P.I laquers is another reason to give this shade [or any] a go.

What's you've favorite O.P.I shade?

The Barley There Polish

Tuesday, July 29, 2014

There is no denying I'm a neutrals girls all the way, and that goes for my polish as well. I'm a big believe that when in doubt go for a nude. I got this shade just a couple weeks ago and it has been on my nails ever since. I first saw O.P.I Bubble Bath on pinterest and of course pinned it, I have difficulty finding shades like all the time, so when I found this at Target I had to snatch it. Bubble Bath is a sheer pink shade, perfect for a french! This shade is also, I think perfect for an interview for you recent grads out there as it is not a bold color that will distract the interview but still looks polished and sophisticated.

I have only tried I think three O.P.I shades and I'm not sure why because I love their formula. For being a sheer shade it actually has good color pay off. Two coats and I'm good to go! I'm not quite sure if its the base and top coat I have been using that has allowed my manicure to last a full week or if its just the O.P.I formula, but I'm very impressed. I'll have to test it out a bit more.

I love me a good nude any day, so tell me what your favorite nude/neutral polish is!

Have a lovely day!
